Service Advisor

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Service Advisor / Writer to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, accurately documenting vehicle issues, recommending necessary repairs, and ensuring a seamless service experience. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to upsell services effectively. Prior dealership experience and familiarity with auto service management are highly valued. The Service Advisor / Writer plays a crucial role in maintaining customer satisfaction while supporting the efficient operation of our service department.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing rapport and understanding their vehicle concerns
• Write detailed service estimates based on customer descriptions and technician diagnostics
• Communicate repair recommendations clearly, including necessary repairs such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, suspension, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, alignments, air brakes, and auto body work
• Upsell additional services and maintenance to meet customer needs while providing honest advice
• Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services
• Manage vehicle repair orders from start to finish, including parts ordering and follow-up
• Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper documentation of all service activities
• Maintain knowledge of current automotive repair techniques and industry standards to assist in estimating and advising on vehicle maintenance
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions and concerns professionally

Qualifications

• Proven dealership experience or extensive background in auto service management is preferred
• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures such as oil changes, brake repair, transmissions, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, alignments, air brakes, and auto body repairs
• Familiarity with automotive estimating software and service writing processes
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to upsell services tactfully and effectively
• Customer service-oriented mindset with a professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
• Knowledge of automobile sales is a plus but not required
• Prior experience working with service technicians or in auto repair shops is advantageous

Pay: $45, $60,000.00 per year
