Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Care Assistant to support the development and well-being of children in our early childhood education setting. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, foster a safe and nurturing environment, and support children's social, emotional, and educational growth. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about working with children and committed to promoting positive childhood development. We have full time and part time positions available at two of our centers located in Freeland and Midland. Note: No credentials are required for this position, but we do offer assistance to those looking to get their CDA which can increase wage.

Duties

  • Supervise and engage children during play, learning activities, and mealtime to ensure safety and enjoyment
  • Assist with diapering, feeding, and nap times for infants and toddlers
  • Support classroom routines and help implement age-appropriate educational activities
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Observe and document children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones
  • Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and team members regarding children's needs and daily experiences
  • Support children with disabilities or special needs by adapting activities to accommodate individual requirements
  • Assist in behavior management strategies to promote positive social interactions

Skills

  • Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom settings
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices
  • Ability to respond calmly in emergency situations
  • Strong caregiving skills with experience caring for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children
  • Ability to work effectively with children with disabilities or special needs
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and team members
  • Patience, compassion, and a nurturing attitude toward young children
  • Experience with behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior
  • Ability to create engaging activities that support learning and development goals

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
