WHAT'S BREWING IN THIS ROLE…

The Cost Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all cost accounting functions related to complex, multi-category inventory and manufacturing activities. This role ensures accurate costing, inventory valuation, margin analysis, and financial reporting across the organization. Inventory includes
mobile building manufacturing, canned beverage production, and operational equipment and technology assets. The position partners closely with operations, supply chain, construction, and finance leadership to drive cost transparency, improve profitability, and support strategic growth initiatives.

THE FLAVOR YOU ADD...

  • Own and manage cost accounting for diverse inventory types, including:
  • Manufacturing and assembly of mobile buildings (materials, labor, overhead, WIP, capitalization)
  • Canned beverage production (ingredients, packaging, conversion costs, yield and variance analysis)
  • Display boards, iPads, and coffee machines (equipment, technology, and fixed-asset–related inventory)
  • Develop and maintain standard costing models for manufactured and assembled products, including BOMs, routings, and overhead allocations
  • Oversee inventory valuation, WIP accounting, and COGS for manufactured goods, equipment, and operational assets
  • Perform detailed variance analysis (material, labor, overhead, production yields) and communicate root causes and corrective actions
  • Partner with construction, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate cost capture from procurement through deployment
  • Ensure proper accounting treatment for capitalization vs. expense of equipment and technology assets
  • Lead monthly close activities related to cost accounting, inventory reconciliations, and related journal entries
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, pricing decisions, and ROI analysis for new builds, equipment purchases, and production initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls; support internal and external
  • audits related to inventory and manufacturing
  • Lead, mentor, and develop cost accounting staff; drive process improvements and system enhancements

MUST-HAVE INGREDIENTS...

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive cost accounting experience, including oversight of manufacturing or complex inventory environments
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, inventory accounting, WIP, capitalization, and cost accounting methodologies
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to manage and analyze large, complex data sets across multiple inventory categories
  • Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally with operations and construction teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with strategic mindset
  • Leadership and team development
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - Master's preferred

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION:

  • Experience with manufacturing, construction, food & beverage, or multi-unit retail operations
  • Background in high-growth or rapidly scaling organizations
  • Experience with system implementations, automation, or cost process optimization
