- Plans and oversees the construction of new or expanded facilities at Nuclear Facility.
- Reviews and/or prepares construction plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Obtains and oversees construction subcontractors.
- Executes the detailed design, monitors project budget, monitors construction activities, and conducts final acceptance of construction subcontracts. Conducts construction surveillance to ensure adherence to contractual requirements.
- Functions as Construction Subcontract Technical Representative or Construction Field Engineer.
- Fulfill role of Subcontract Technical Representative (STR) responsible for assuring subcontractor performance and delivery in full compliance with the subcontract agreement and requirements.
- Interact with, and monitor, subcontractors to ensure compliance with project drawings and specifications, safety, security, quality requirements, schedule and cost.
- Oversees construction work for compliance with drawings and specifications. Maintains direct relationship with the Construction Management (CM), Quality, Project Management (PM), Supply Chain Management (SCM) to execute the scope of work.
- Participates in obtaining all required permits/clearances, lockouts, logistics, Security Escorts, access badges, incident reports/ investigations, approval of invoices and work authorizations.
- Oversee operational testing, commissioning, and training to validate the design, construction, hardware, programs, and personnel are ready to support safe operations.

- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Typical experience ranging from 7 to 10 years.
- Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Typical experience ranging from 7 to 10 years.
- PhD: No experience.
- OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 12 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.

Preferred Job Requirements- Preferred candidates will have a degree in engineering (mechanical), construction or technical field and experience in construction and subcontractor oversight.
- Knowledge of building construction materials, knowledge of meeting outdoor air requirements for indoor air quality, and general understanding of internal heat loads (i.e., lights, computers, equipment, etc.)
- Experience with design and layout of commercial and industrial duct systems including supply, return, exhaust, ventilation, and dust collection systems.
- General knowledge of Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system controls desirable. Includes development of general
HVAC temperature control diagrams and written sequences of operation. - Experience with executing acceptance testing of systems and components to performance and design criteria that demonstrates that specifications and safety requirements have been met.
- Technical education and some related experience applying these competencies is sufficient to complete most assignments.
- Working knowledge of construction engineering practices in multi-discipline nuclear facility construction operations.
- Knowledge of general contractor oversight technique and processes for nuclear facility construction.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and design process for Engineering/Construction Projects.
