We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist for our facility in Richmond, Virginia. This position is critical for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the efficient flow of goods through our **logistics** process. You will be responsible for monitoring inventory levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to improve inventory accuracy. This role also involves ensuring **safety** compliance within the warehouse, including the proper use of **PPE** and adherence to safe **lifting** practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of inventory management principles. Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is highly desirable. You will work closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations and contribute to overall operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS.
- Monitor stock levels and identify items needing replenishment or disposition.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all **safety** regulations, including **PPE** usage and **lifting** guidelines.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and other departments on inventory matters.
- Manage returns and damaged goods processing.
- Assist in optimizing warehouse layout for better inventory management.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of **logistics** operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar **logistics** role.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and **safety** practices.
- Proficiency in WMS software and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including **lifting** up to 30 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse **logistics** and operations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with **PPE** usage and warehouse **safety** protocols.
