We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials within the distribution center. This role is crucial for maintaining the flow of goods and ensuring timely order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation and a keen eye for detail. You will work closely with warehouse staff, supervisors, and management to ensure all operations run smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to transport materials.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers with precision and care.
- Stack and organize inventory in designated areas.
- Conduct daily pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working order.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety regulations and protocols.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse duties as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and **logistics**.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina for **Lifting** up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to **Safety** standards, including proper use of **PPE**.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Familiarity with scanning equipment is a plus.
