Our Madison, Wisconsin logistics center is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory data. You will be responsible for overseeing all inventory-related processes, including cycle counting, stocktaking, reconciliation, and investigating discrepancies. Your analytical skills and methodical approach will ensure that our inventory records are precise, supporting efficient operations and informed decision-making within our supply chain. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of warehouse logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by researching transaction history and performing audits.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and policies.
- Monitor inventory levels and report on stock movements and aging inventory.
- Manage the return process, inspecting returned items and updating inventory accordingly.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure proper put-away, picking, and storage of goods.
- Ensure the proper use and maintenance of inventory management systems and hardware.
- Maintain a secure and organized inventory storage environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure proper use of PPE during inventory operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency with inventory management software (e.g., WMS, ERP systems).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 lbs, and working in a warehouse environment.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Understanding of warehouse logistics and supply chain principles.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be highly accurate, methodical, and reliable.
