We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator for our facility in Huntsville, Alabama. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse, supporting our extensive logistics network. You'll operate various types of forklifts to load and unload trucks, move inventory to and from storage locations, and assist with order fulfillment. A strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and equipment operation is essential. Join a team that values expertise, safety, and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport inventory to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping/receiving docks.
- Assist with order picking and staging by moving pallets and other materials.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, free from obstructions.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including mandatory PPE usage.
- Accurately record movement of materials as required by the warehouse management system.
- Participate in inventory counts and other warehouse duties as assigned to support logistics operations.
- Valid forklift operator certification and a proven track record of safe operation.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and best practices in logistics.
- Must be able to work in varying temperature conditions and wear required PPE.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
