We are seeking a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a crucial role in our logistics department, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents, verifying order accuracy, coordinating with carriers, labeling packages correctly, and loading shipments onto trucks. Meticulous attention to detail is vital to prevent errors and ensure timely delivery to our customers. You will work closely with the warehouse team to maintain a smooth and organized shipping process. Maintaining a clean and safe shipping area is also a key part of this role. We are committed to a safe working environment and require all employees to adhere to strict safety guidelines and utilize the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE ). This position involves standing for extended periods, moving quickly around the warehouse, and performing lifting of packages weighing up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipping documentation.
- Verify accuracy of orders being shipped against customer orders.
- Label packages accurately and securely.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickups and deliveries.
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Communicate any shipping delays or issues to relevant parties.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations.
- Properly use all required PPE .
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar warehouse role is a plus.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and order management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of shipping procedures and basic logistics .
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE .
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
