We are looking for a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to join our bustling warehouse in Los Angeles, California. In this critical logistics role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency from the moment goods arrive. Your responsibilities will include unloading trucks, verifying delivery contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and accurately recording received items into our inventory system. Maintaining a safe and orderly receiving area is paramount, and strict adherence to safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE, is expected. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to perform lifting tasks. As a Receiving Clerk, you are essential to maintaining accurate inventory levels, which directly impacts our overall operations and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks safely and efficiently.
- Verify received goods against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect all incoming items for damage and report discrepancies.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the inventory management system.
- Stage received goods for proper put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving dock area.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and wear designated PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, shipping, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Familiarity with inventory management software.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with pallet jacks.
- Understanding of the logistics supply chain.
