We are seeking a skilled and certified Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa. In this critical role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts and other powered industrial equipment to move, load, unload, and stack materials within our warehouse. Your expertise in safe and efficient operation is paramount to maintaining the flow of goods and ensuring the productivity of our facility. This position requires a proven track record of safe forklift operation, a strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will play a vital part in our inventory management and order fulfillment processes. A commitment to safety, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is non-negotiable. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operator to contribute to a well-established logistics operation. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload trucks and containers with accuracy and efficiency.
- Move inventory from receiving to storage areas, and from storage to shipping.
- Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure safe operation and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away and retrieval of stock.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety regulations.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
