We are hiring a dedicated Shipping & Receiving Associate for our busy Portland, Oregon distribution center. This pivotal role ensures the smooth and accurate processing of all inbound and outbound shipments. You will be responsible for managing the flow of goods, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring efficient **logistics**. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a high standard of **Safety** in all operations. You will work closely with carriers, warehouse staff, and management to guarantee seamless operations.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect for damage.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and documentation.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for incoming and outgoing goods.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers and schedule pickups/deliveries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and **Safety**-compliant shipping and receiving area.
- Conduct regular audits of shipping and receiving processes.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies and **Safety** regulations, including the correct use of **PPE**.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including **Lifting** and moving stock.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with **logistics** and supply chain processes.
- Proficiency in using WMS (Warehouse Management System) and shipping software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including **Lifting** up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Knowledge of **Safety** best practices in a warehouse environment.
- Experience with forklift operation is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
