We are looking for dedicated Order Pickers to join our logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently retrieving products from warehouse shelves to fulfill customer orders. Your precision in picking and careful handling of items are essential for maintaining customer satisfaction and inventory accuracy. This position is critical to the smooth operation of our distribution center and contributes directly to our supply chain success.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and review picking orders accurately.
- Locate and retrieve specified items from warehouse shelves using pick lists or RF scanners.
- Verify the accuracy of picked items against order details.
- Stage picked items for packing and ensure proper handling to prevent damage.
- Assist with packing orders as needed.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area within the picking zone.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety rules and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Report any damaged items or discrepancies to supervisors immediately.
- Contribute to overall warehouse efficiency and support the logistics team.
- Participate in inventory counts and stock checks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience as an Order Picker or in a similar warehouse role is an advantage.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Capacity to lift and move items, typically up to 40 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Familiarity with RF scanning technology is a plus.
- Understanding of warehouse safety practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
