Join our growing logistics team in Detroit, Michigan, as an Inventory Control Specialist! We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, and implementing strategies to optimize inventory accuracy. You will collaborate closely with warehouse staff and management to maintain precise stock records and efficient material flow. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and a deep understanding of inventory control principles. We are dedicated to providing a safe working environment and mandate strict adherence to all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE. The position involves both analytical work and physical tasks within the warehouse, such as walking the floor and potentially assisting with material movement that may involve lifting. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Maintain and update inventory records in the WMS accurately.
- Develop and implement procedures to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor stock levels and report on inventory status.
- Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to resolve inventory-related issues.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all inventory items.
- Uphold all company safety policies and ensure compliance with PPE requirements.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in our logistics.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management.
- Be prepared for tasks involving movement of goods which may require lifting.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of inventory control methodologies and best practices.
- Commitment to safety and correct use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
