We are looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our bustling warehouse in Baltimore, Maryland. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring that all shipments are accurately documented, inspected, and stored appropriately. This role is vital for maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the seamless flow of our logistics operations. You'll work closely with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to manage the receiving process efficiently and safely. A strong understanding of warehouse procedures and a commitment to maintaining high standards are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks and trailers.
- Inspect goods for damage and verify quantities against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Accurately record all received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
- Stage incoming inventory in the designated receiving area or direct it to appropriate departments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving dock.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed, following all safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, vendors, and other team members regarding receiving activities.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving role or similar logistics position is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using WMS or other inventory tracking software.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
- Experience with operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
