The CNC Tooling Programmer supports manufacturing operations by designing, programming, and machining extrusion tooling and related components. This role partners with engineering, tooling, and production teams to develop, modify, and maintain high-quality extrusion dies and tooling that meet customer specifications, production requirements, and quality standards.
*Essential Duties & Responsibilities*
· Program CNC mills, lathes, and EDM equipment to manufacture extrusion tooling, including dies, mandrels, plates, and support components.
· Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs using CAM software to improve cycle time, accuracy, and tool life.
· Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T, and extrusion profiles to determine machining strategies and tooling requirements.
· Set up, prove out, and troubleshoot CNC programs; make real-time adjustments to resolve machining or tooling issues.
· Collaborate with engineering and tooling teams to design new tooling and modify existing tooling for extrusion processes.
· Maintain tight tolerances and surface finish requirements specific to extrusion tooling.
· Perform tool offsets, fixture setup, machine calibration, and preventative maintenance tasks as required.
· Inspect finished tooling using precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, CMMs, optical comparators).
· Document CNC programs, setup sheets, tooling changes, and process improvements.
· Follow all safety, quality, housekeeping, and PPE requirements in the manufacturing environment.

*Qualifications*
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification, apprenticeship, or trade school training preferred.
· 3–5 years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment; extrusion or tooling experience strongly preferred.
*Skills & Competencies*
· Proficiency in CNC programming for mills and/or lathes (G-code).
· Experience with CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM, or similar platforms.
· Strong working knowledge of machining practices, tooling materials, and extrusion tooling principles.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T.
· Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and attention-to-detail skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.
*Working Conditions & Physical Requirements*
· Full-time, on-site position in a manufacturing and machine shop environment; PPE required.
· Ability to stand, walk production areas, and lift up to 50 pounds.
· Exposure to machining equipment, cutting fluids, and shop noise.

Pay: $26.00 - $34.00 per hour
