A fantastic contract opportunity has become available for a
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
to join a respected engineering consultancy with a strong track record in delivering high-quality MEP design solutions. This role is for a
6-month contract , based in
Hampshire , and falls
outside IR35 .
With a number of new projects underway, the consultancy is seeking a seasoned engineer to contribute to the design and delivery of a
large-scale residential development .
Position Overview
Create comprehensive mechanical design solutions based on client requirements
Carry out mechanical services calculations for building systems
Support the production of technical specifications and equipment schedules
Conduct feasibility assessments and technical reviews
Offer technical input and guidance throughout project phases
Draft technical documentation and project reports
Key Requirements
Demonstrable experience in mechanical services and HVAC design
Solid understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards
Background in residential or multi-unit housing projects
Skilled in site assessments, load calculations, and ventilation or steam systems
Proficient with design software, particularly Hevacomp
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
Clear communicator with experience in writing reports and presenting findings
Self-starter who thrives in both team and independent environments
Supervisory or team-leading experience is a plus
