As an inclusive, forward thinking business, we take pride in our approach to product quality across Avara Foods and are looking for highly competent and motivated Quality Assurance Manager to join our Technical team at our Holly Bank site in Scropton (Derbyshire).
Working Hours The core working hours for this role are Monday – Friday 07:30 – 16:30. During seasonal peaks between October - December shift times are reviewed to accommodate higher levels of production.
What will you be doing as the QA Manager As the QA Manager you will be a key player in ensuring quality, safety and legality of product and animals by solving technical problems, implementing change and managing a small team of dedicated QAs.
Key responsibilities
Ensuring our products and processes meet and exceed customer specifications within a fast moving, short shelf life environment.
Providing day to day management and continuous development of the QA team.
Maintaining the Quality Management System and HACCP manual using internal databases, portals and software such as iAuditor.
Responding to customers’ enquiries and complaints ensuring effective corrective actions are taken.
Leading internal audits to ensure best practice and audit readiness.
Ensuring that an effective technical service to the site is developed, implemented and maintained.
Providing guidance and support for production and operational teams influencing and challenging where needed.
Helping monitor and ensure animal welfare standards, working closely with the site FSA veterinary officer.
What you’ll need to be successful
Leadership skills and experience motivating teams.
Up to date, working knowledge of food manufacturing legislation, standards and guidance.
Experience within a food production environment alongside quality assurance and auditing.
An understanding of environmental issues and potential impacts.
Internal auditing qualifications and advanced food hygiene and HACCP qualifications are beneficial.
Knowledge of and experience working with major retailers would be beneficial.
