Job Overview
As an In Home Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of assistance within their own homes. Your compassionate nature and dedication to providing exceptional care will empower clients to maintain their independence while ensuring their safety and comfort. You'll engage with clients on a personal level, offering support that goes beyond basic caregiving tasks.

What you'll do

• Provide personalized care to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Monitor and document clients' health status, reporting any changes or concerns to family members or healthcare professionals.
• Assist with medication management, ensuring clients take their medications as prescribed.
• Engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
• Support clients with mobility assistance and transportation to appointments or social events.
• Foster strong relationships with clients and their families through open communication and empathy.

Experience

• Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred, particularly in geriatrics or post-acute care settings.
• Familiarity with medical-surgical practices and inpatient care is beneficial.
• Experience working in a Level I or Level II trauma center is a plus, as well as exposure to emergency medicine environments.
• Knowledge of pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) practices is advantageous for those caring for younger clients.
• Background in outpatient clinic settings or sub-acute care facilities will enhance your ability to provide comprehensive support.
• Teaching hospital experience is valuable for understanding complex medical needs and collaborating effectively with healthcare teams.
• A passion for helping others and a commitment to ongoing learning in the caregiving field are essential.
