Location: Southview Acres Health Care Center
Schedule:
7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, every other weekend rotation

Pay Range
$18.00-$20.00 and hour.

Southview Acres Care Center
is seeking a motivated, experienced leader to oversee our Housekeeping, Janitorial, and Laundry departments. This position plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents and staff. The Lead Housekeeper reports directly to the Director of Environmental Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to the Environmental Services (EVS) team, including housekeeping, janitorial, and laundry staff
  • Ensure the facility maintains high standards of cleanliness and sanitation
  • Conduct daily audits and facility rounds to monitor cleanliness and identify improvement areas
  • Train, mentor, and coach new team members
  • Monitor and support staff performance and adherence to safety protocols
  • Fill in for staff during PTO or call-ins when coverage is unavailable
  • Assist with PM shift coverage as needed during staffing shortages
  • Ensure all EVS team members complete their assigned duties and documentation

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or laundry services
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience required
  • Experience in long-term care or healthcare environments preferred
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance protocols (SDS, chemical handling, PPE, bloodborne pathogens, etc.)
  • Ability to perform all department duties, as outlined in individual job descriptions
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a background check

Additional Duties:

  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily operations of the housekeeping, janitorial, and laundry departments to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and attention to detail
  • Conduct regular building audits and facility rounds to assess cleanliness and adherence to safety standards
  • Oversee daily work assignments, ensuring all Environmental Services (EVS) staff understand and complete their responsibilities
  • Schedule and adjust staffing levels to meet operational needs while maintaining productivity and service standards
  • Serve as a backup when necessary by performing housekeeping, janitorial, or laundry duties during staff shortages
  • Review and ensure accurate completion of required documentation and checklists
  • Train and educate new employees on cleaning protocols, equipment use, and safety procedures
  • Provide consistent, effective communication with team members including guidance, direction, feedback, coaching, mentoring, recognition, and support
  • Foster a positive team environment that encourages accountability, professional growth, and high-quality service delivery
