POSITION SUMMARY:

The Engineer II position is responsible for repairing and maintaining physical structures and systems of the hospital and hospital properties. This position performs a wide variety of skilled and semi-skilled building maintenance and repair tasks and performs related duties as required.

Salary Range: $23.80-$34.28 per hour based on experience

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensure/Certification/Registrations:Must have a current, valid, CO driver's license in good standing and insurable. Documented certification or equivalent experience in specific building trade or construction experience required.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience: 3–5 years' experience in building/property maintenance required. Experience in hospital building/property preferred. Experience in building automation systems, nurse call systems and fire alarm systems preferred.
  • Skills & Abilities:Excellent organization and customer service skills. Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities and prioritize and schedule according to forecast workloads. Must be able to successfully and effectively communicate with a variety of personnel. Must have good diagnostic skills and be able to perform and maintenance repair work on all or most of the following areas: appliances; electrical systems; plumbing systems; carpentry; painting/wallpapering/sheet rock; pool systems; roofing; (as required).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Complete engineering tasks and respond to work service requests. Repair and maintain hospital plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and other engineering systems. Also, maintain the grounds, including irrigation systems, the interior structures and furnishings of the hospital, the exterior structures of the hospital and other areas as designated.
  • Adhere to customer service standards. Work with other Engineering staff to ensure hospital maintenance issues are dealt with in a timely manner and that proper follow-through is done.
  • Adhere to hospital safety standards, policies and procedures. Correctly wear and utilize safety equipment, as required. Also, complete safety inspections as required and participate in programs and procedures to comply with codes and standards, including but not limited to, JCAHO and OSHA.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment, computerized operating systems and plant facilities.
  • Perform skilled duties relevant to the employee's specialization/education.
  • Attend training/education in technology updates as mandated by the Engineering Supervisor.
