Nightlife - General Manager Job Description
The position is the single point of accountability for the entire venue and is responsible for venue financials, venue profitability, hitting or exceeding venue goals, as well as motivating, coaching, and leading their team. In addition, the General Manager ensures the venue is running effectively and meeting all Company standards to include; execution of service, guest interaction, atmosphere and cleanliness. The position should be passionate about offering surpassed hospitality to guests and upholding highest standards at the venue.
GUEST SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interact and entertain Guests in a professional, cordial, and exemplary manner
- Greet and serve Guest courteously and in a timely manner with an upbeat attitude
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a courteous and polite manner
- Anticipate Guest needs
- Provide guests with information and directions
- Working knowledge of portion control and product identification. Answer questions about our food, beverages, and other Company functions and services. Inform guests of specials and menu changes
- Adhere to all The Company Standard Operating Procedures
- Maintain all The Company Sequence of Service Standards
- Provide information to Guests regarding our venues, menus, and pricing
- Recognize and cultivate regular Guests and repeat business
- Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through your work area throughout the shift
- Report any incidents of theft, vandalism, or violations
- Respond to guest concerns/complaints regarding service or beverages and correct errors or resolve complaints with a positive attitude

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Continually strive to develop staff in all areas of managerial and professional development.
- Ensure excellence in guest satisfaction through a commitment to exceeding expectations and hands-on leading by example management style.
- Strong knowledge of portion control and product identification. Answer questions about our food, beverages and other company functions and services. Inform Guests of specials and menu changes and pricing.
- Ensure that no members of staff are permitted to work if they are not suitably dressed or groomed
- Accommodate and anticipate guests needs
- Develop and implement operating standards, policies, and procedures to be followed by the management team
- Maintain highest standards of food and beverage quality, guest service, cost control, and consistency in accordance with company's expectations
- Responsible for to hiring, training, management, coaching, counselling, and evaluation of all members of the team
- Develop skills of the management team in accordance with the succession planning goals set by the company
- Evaluate all relationships with outside partners, contractors, and vendors on a frequent basis
- Consistently monitor sales and expenses, approving all purchase orders before they are executed
- Work closely in the development of the budget; manage P&L and ensure managers' report all variances on a timely basis (minimally, once a month)
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all period--end financial statements and reports, and provide controls to ensure proper handling and accounting for all restaurant receipts
- Manage weekly forecasting of cost expenditures and staffing vs. sales
- Maintain frequent communication with the Executive Team and ensure they are aware of all major occurrences at the establishment
- Operate with an open-door policy, listen to and understand requests of the team, respond with appropriate actions, and provide accurate information
- Interact with all department personnel and restaurant staff as needed
- Ensure inventory levels are maintained for facilitating proper restaurant operations, enforce strict inventory controls, and participate in monthly inventory reconciliations in conjunction with purchasing and finance teams
- Ensure that no members of staff are permitted to work if they are not suitably dressed or groomed
- Monitor guest satisfaction on all levels, including social media platforms
- Ensure health, safety, and sanitation requirements follow the Department of Health, OSHA, and any city or state agencies rules and laws such as the Department of Buildings and the Fire Department, and ensure all managers are kept abreast of any changes in the law
- Participate in community events and ensure corporate social responsibility goals of the company are met
- Work closely with the public relations team on a marketing plan that results in optimum recognition and maximum number of covers for the restaurant
- Monitor market trends, research consumer markets and competitor's activities to identify opportunities and key issues
- Oversee marketing and advertising activities to ensure consistency with product line strategy
- Lead in creating sales goals
- Accurately forecast staffing needs to ensure optimum customer service
- Ensures that private events, catering, and banquets are successfully executed
- Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling procedures
- Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules
- Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the venues preventative maintenance programs
- Ensure that all products are received in accordance with the venues receiving policies and procedures
- Assists and conducts conflict resolution, corrective actions and coaching
- Oversee and ensure that employee performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner
- Ensure that talent and technical production are working smoothly at the venues; create special mood for the guests.
- Assists and/ or completes additional tasks as assigned
RESPONSIBLE ALCOHOL MANAGEMENT
- Recognize and acknowledge when Guests are becoming intoxicated and/or are intoxicated
- Monitor potentially intoxicated and/or disruptive Guests and promptly bring to a Manager's attention
- Refuse further service of alcohol to intoxicated Guests in a courteous and safety-minded manner
- Comply with all state and federal liquor laws
- Comply with all safety and health department procedures as well as Company and/or departmental policies/procedures.
- Responsible for checking the identification of Guests and following all other responsible vending guidelines
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Keep bar tops, floors, and service areas clean/free of dirty glasses, dirty ashtrays, trash, and any unnecessary items throughout the shift.
- Keep back bar clean and organized.

- Polish and wash glassware throughout the shift

MARKETING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in in-house modeling programs, special events, Banquet service functions, and performs model/presenter tasks
- Participates in in-house marketing campaigns and advertising
- Assist in the development of promotional plans to increase business levels and sales
- Pose for pictures as requested by Management, appear in uniform or designated (logo) apparel for promotional activities at or away from venue
- Participate and appear in marketing, publicity, or media materials
- Participate in marketing or promotional activities at or away from the venue

- Post events, communications and participate in marketing campaigns via social media

CASH HANDLING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accuracy in handling monetary transactions, including counting back change to the guest. Follows all cash register and cash/credit card handling procedures as required for the position

Qualifications:
Required:
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years' experience in a high-volume restaurant, lounge and/or nightclub as an General Manager
- 21+ years of age
- Driver's License
- Possession of/or ability to possess a valid NV Alcohol Awareness card and NV Health Card
- POS systems knowledge
- Position-specific duties knowledge

- Ability to maintain and enforce sanitation and safety standards (SNHD, OSHA)
- Experience in scheduling platforms (7Shifts, HotSchedules, or equivalent)
- Strong guest relations and conflict resolution skills
- Proven track record of cost control and budgeting
- Experience in team leadership, training, and coaching
- Hands-on experience in event planning and execution
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, champagne, and cocktails
- Experience working in casino & hotel environments
- 2 year Background in nightclub operations, including entertainment, bottle service, and floor supervision
- Familiarity with upscale casual dining or luxury lounge service standards
- Working knowledge of Infogenesys POS configuration and reporting
- Experience interpreting and managing venue P&L statements
- Knowledge of social media or marketing participation as it pertains to venue promotion
- Demonstrated ability to forecast and staff effectively during peak and off-peak hours
- Knowledge of scheduling platforms such as 7shifts or hot schedules
- Knowledge of ordering and inventory management systems such as craftable, Ariba or similar
