JOB DESCRIPTION

Assists in providing for the total needs of the residents/patients who are entrusted to the chaplain's care. Their ministry is in concert with the priest chaplain, other physicians, nurses, social workers and members of the staff. The Chaplain provides sacramental, liturgical and pastoral ministry to residents/patients, their families and the hospital staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles and concepts acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Theology, Pastoral Care, Pastoral Counseling or closely related field and previous experience in hospital ministry is helpful
• If the applicant is a Roman Catholic he/she must be in good standing.
• A non-Catholic chaplain must be in good standing with her/his Religious Tradition.

ABOUT THE TEAM

St. Joseph's University Medical Center is an academic tertiary care medical center and state designated trauma center, located on the Paterson campus, regularly accepts referrals of difficult or unusual cases from other hospitals and physicians and performs both complex and routine procedures.
