Security Manager

Job Summary: Manage all aspects of John Knox Village 24/7 Security operation, being accountable for staff performance and maintenance of equipment. This working manager provides liaison between Security department and all other departments as necessary.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of John Knox Village 24/7 Security operation, being accountable for performance of staff and maintenance of equipment.
• Hire, train, and promote staff to fill security posts as needed.
• Direct the work of security staff.
• Counsel security staff as needed.
• Implement and enforce relevant operational procedures as set by John Knox Village management.
• Development and modification of security procedures and operational manuals as needed.
• Function as liaison between security department and all other departments as necessary.
• Overseeing daily logs, incident reports and all issues of note to include internal campus investigations; reporting of same to Director of Campus Services and/or appropriate director staff.
• Function as liaison between John Knox Village and local law enforcement agencies.
• All other duties as noted in Security Officer and Lieutenant job responsibilities.

Other Functions and Responsibilities:

• Other duties as requested or assigned.

Working Conditions: 

• May be exposed to inclement weather conditions. 
• Busy office environment with incoming calls from residents, security officers, and other departments.

Educational, Physical, and Other Requirements: 

• Must pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Clearinghouse (Learn more: )

• For the safety and security of our residents and patients, employees must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English, which is the most universally used language of our resident and employee population. 
• High school graduate or GED equivalent, valid Florida drivers license in good standing.
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, ability to remain calm in all situations, ability to work various shifts and days.
• Thorough knowledge of John Knox Village polices/procedures, and property/facilities.
