Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with behavioral health needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, PTSD, and other mental health conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, crisis management, and behavior management techniques. Duties
- Assist with patient intake, assessments, and ongoing data collection to monitor progress and treatment outcomes
- Implement behavior management plans using applied behavior analysis (ABA) and other therapeutic techniques
- Administer medication following prescribed protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards
- Monitor vital signs and observe behavioral changes to ensure patient safety and well-being
- Provide crisis intervention and crisis management support during behavioral episodes or emergencies
- Support clients with activities of daily living, including personal care and social skills development
- Document medical records accurately and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, special education professionals, and medical staff to optimize patient care
- Assist with training and supervising clients in the use of coping strategies for PTSD, addiction recovery, or behavioral challenges
- Engage in ongoing training related to medical terminology, behavior analysis, and disability-specific care
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or mental health conditions preferred
- Knowledge of crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavior management strategies required
- Familiarity with medical documentation, medical records, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration preferred
- Background in social work, special education, addiction counseling, or applied behavior analysis is advantageous
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including those with disabilities or mental health challenges such as PTSD or autism spectrum disorder
- Strong communication skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations professionally
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to patient care and confidentiality under HIPAA standards
- Relevant certifications or training in crisis intervention or behavioral health are a plus
