General ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the School Programs Director/Principal, the Educational Assistant provides instructional support to students in a classroom setting.
Salary:
The full range for this position is $39, $47, Offers are made at the entry level of the range.
Assignment:
This position will work 35 hours per week and have a school year schedule (220 days).

Essential Functions:
- Provide academic assistance to enrolled students.
- Supervise groups and work independently with students as directed by the teacher.
- Establish behavior management strategies to create and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Participate in staff meetings, inservice programs, workshops and seminars.
- Communicate with students, parents, staff and community partners.
- Facilitate student skill building in the areas of personal and social development.
Other Functions:
- Maintain accurate data of student enrollment and SPED record management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma.
- Must meet one of the following educational requirements:
- Associate's degree (note: if offered a position, official transcripts are required prior to start date) OR
- 48 sem./72 quarter credits from an accredited college or university(note: if offered a position, official transcripts are required prior to start date) ; OR
- Passing score of 455 on the ParaPro Assessment; OR
- Passing score of 220 on the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment; OR
- 65% on The Master Teacher, Inc. Paraeducator Online Training Program
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree.
- Experience with at-risk youth.
- Experience with computer-based instruction.
- Experience in mental health, juvenile justice or alternative education.
Working Conditions:
- Classroom setting.
- Regular attendance during scheduled work hours.
Employment Requirements:
- Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
