Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. This role involves providing behavioral therapy and support to children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to implement treatment plans, collect data, and support positive behavioral outcomes. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those with special needs while gaining valuable experience in behavioral health and applied behavior analysis.

Duties

  • Implement individualized behavioral therapy programs based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles.
  • Collect and record accurate data on client behaviors, progress, and responses during therapy sessions.
  • Assist with patient assessment and conduct diagnostic evaluations under supervision.
  • Support patients during intake processes and facilitate their participation in therapeutic activities.
  • Maintain detailed medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and team members to develop and modify treatment strategies.
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate findings to supervising clinicians for ongoing treatment planning.
  • Provide patient care that promotes safety, comfort, and engagement during therapy sessions.
  • Adhere to all medical terminology standards and maintain accurate medical records related to behavioral health services.

Requirements

  • Experience or training in behavioral therapy, special education, or working with children with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and document data accurately in accordance with clinical protocols.
  • Familiarity with medical documentation procedures, medical terminology, and patient assessment methods.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of medical records and client information.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a behavioral health setting is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations including children with autism.
  • Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing high-quality patient care. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting individuals with developmental disabilities through evidence-based practices while developing their professional skills in behavioral health services.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $24.29 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week
