About The Role
Rocket Lawyer is seeking an experienced, passionate Senior AI/ML Software Engineer for Rocket Copilot, our innovative AI assistant launched in December 2023. In this role, you will be instrumental in embedding AI features across our platform, working within an agile, cross-functional team. You will collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, data engineers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain cutting-edge AI functionalities.

You will have the opportunity to lead the development of generative AI features, contribute to the evolution of our AI capabilities, and help shape the future of legal technology. Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in developing machine learning code for commercially launched products.
  • Proven experience leading small teams of developers, mentoring junior engineers, and driving project success.
  • Hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining production features leveraging large language models (LLMs) and generative AI technologies.
  • Deep understanding of the state-of-the-art in generative AI, including techniques such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA), Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback (RLHF), and related methodologies.
  • Experience creating, curating, and utilizing proprietary, anonymized datasets for training and fine-tuning machine learning models.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, with familiarity in frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-Learn.

Responsibilities

  • Rapidly prototype and explore new AI capabilities, developing clean, efficient, and understandable code.
  • Deliver innovative generative AI features into production environments, ensuring robustness and scalability.
  • Mentor and guide junior AI developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Create, monitor, and troubleshoot backend API services that enable seamless interaction between Rocket Lawyer's front-end applications and machine learning models.
  • Collaborate with multiple product teams to integrate AI functionalities into existing and new products efficiently.
  • Build, train, fine-tune, deploy, and maintain machine learning models tailored to specific AI features and use cases.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in generative AI and machine learning, applying best practices to enhance product capabilities.
