Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Engineer to oversee and manage all technical and engineering aspects of major construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in a fast-paced construction industry, with demonstrated high competence in construction scopes, strong project management skills, and a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes on complex builds, with an emphasis on concrete and masonry scopes. This role involves general oversight, leadership skills, and close collaboration with project managers, subcontractors, architects, and clients to ensure projects meet safety standards, timelines, budgets, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily on-site construction activities, including coordination of subcontractors, material deliveries, and workforce scheduling.
• Lead engineering oversight for concrete scopes, including formwork design review, rebar placement, pouring sequences, curing processes, and quality assurance testing (e.g., slump tests, cylinder breaks, and non-destructive testing).
• Review and interpret construction plans, blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, and RFIs to ensure compliance with NYC Building Code, zoning regulations, ACI standards, and project-specific concrete requirements.
• Manage project engineering tasks such as submittals, change orders, cost tracking, and schedule maintenance.
• Conduct site inspections, quality control checks, and safety audits to enforce compliance with OSHA, NYC SST, and company protocols.
• Resolve technical issues in the field, provide value engineering recommendations (particularly for concrete mixes, reinforcement, and constructability), and collaborate with architects, engineers, and owners to address design or construction challenges.
