Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking maintenance technician to join our maintenance and construction team. We manage residential properties across Wayne County and need hands-on professionals who can work independently and sometimes with a team, follow schedules, and deliver high-quality service The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting various handyman, maintenance operations, including drywall install/repair, paint, flooring install/repair, etc., inventory control, and the safe operation of heavy equipment. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth functioning of our property management maintenance and construction company and requires a proactive approach to tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand and power tools, such as hammers, saws, drills, etc.
• Complete weekly assigned maintenance and repair task.
• Log in/out of your daily schedule via smartphone
• Upload before/after photos and brief job summaires
• Perform handyman duties: drywall repair/install, light plumbing/electrical, painting, carpentry, lock changes, minor HVAC
• Respond to emergency work orders when needed.
• Maintain an clean environment by managing inventory control processes.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed timely
• Communicate clearly with tenants, property mangers and admin staff.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on property.
• Follow safety protocols to minimize risks and maintain a safe working environment.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to general construction.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a maintenance and construction environment is necessary.
• Proficiency in power tools equipment
• Must have smartphone to access work schedule and submit updates
• Strong construction knowledge to assist with basic property maintenance as well as full renovation and construction.
• MUST have your own tools and reliable truck
• Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks consistently throughout the shift.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Must be clean, punctual, professional and well-spoken.
• Must be available for emergency calls
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented or solo setting.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing work conditions.
