SUMMARY

The Regional Accounting Controller organizes and manages the accounting activities at the multiple plants assigned. The Regional Controller is responsible for ensuring the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, and system of internal controls are adhered to at each division. The position reports to the Director of Finance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development, analysis, and interpretation of accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the plants assigned.
  • Provides necessary financial analysis to plant managers and sales managers. Multiple plant responsibility
  • Responsible for the daily review and analysis of product margins including cost issues.
  • Ensures the timeliness and accuracy of month end closing.
  • Assists with the year-end audit as needed
  • Performs as the primary contact with plant personnel for any accounting related questions.
  • Responsible for the integrity of the perpetual inventory system.
  • Reviews any unusual adjustments.
  • Calculates and reviews inventory turns.
  • Ensures personnel are monitoring aged inventory levels and slowing moving inventory.
  • Verifies the integrity of all systems, processes and data.
  • Spearheads the development or improvement of these systems and controls.
  • Assists with the coordination and preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures.
  • Capital expenditure request analysis.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong analytical ability and a hands-on approach.
  • Proven problem solver and decision maker.
  • Maintains a high level of flexibility, a strong sense of urgency and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Travel requirement of up to 30%.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.
