Role Overview
The HR Business Partner is responsible for providing strategic direction, guidance, support and coaching to the Site Leadership and Management Team.
This role involves developing and implementing the site People Strategy that aligns with the site/business growth strategy and objectives, fostering a positive and inclusive work culture, and developing a strong talent strategy to ensure we have the right people in the right roles at the right time.
This role serves as a strategic partner to business leaders, providing guidance and support on a wide range of HR matters, including (but not limited to) employee relations, performance management, reward and recognition, talent management and development, communications and engagement and organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership
- Align HR strategies with site business goals and support organizational change initiatives using IMI's change management model.
Talent Strategy & Workforce Planning
- Lead workforce planning, performance reviews, succession planning, and capability development.
- Oversee recruitment for key roles and ensure effective onboarding and retention strategies.
Employee Experience & Engagement
- Drive employee engagement through surveys, focus groups, and site-wide initiatives including IMI Way Day.
- Promote open communication through town halls, leadership meetings, and transparent messaging.
Performance, Reward & Recognition
- Manage performance processes aligned with IMI's Pay for Performance policy.
- Lead compensation, benefits, and recognition programs, ensuring compliance with national living wage standards.
Inclusion, Wellbeing & Culture
- Champion wellbeing initiatives, ensuring leadership engagement and action on OBV survey feedback.
- Promote IMI's "Always Care" value across the site.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Provide guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and local regulations.
Data-Driven HR & Technology Enablement
- Analyze HR metrics to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure accurate reporting and leverage AI and HR systems to enhance efficiency.
HR Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop the site HR team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Promote IMI values (Always Care, Be Curious, Create Impact) across the HR function and site.
Crisis & Continuity Planning
- Develop HR strategies for business continuity and workforce resilience during disruptions.
Global & Regional HR Initiatives
- Support and implement global, sector, and regional HR projects and programs at the site level.
Work Environment
: On-site with up to 10% travel annually.
Critical Competencies For Success
- Experience as a senior HR business partner in an international environment (manufacturing experience is desirable).
- Demonstrable experience in successfully delivering business growth, change management & HR transformation.
- Exceptional knowledge of HR strategy and commercial insight, talent management, recruitment, engagement, cultural change, reward and recognition, and learning and development.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and people skills.
- Methodical thinker with the ability to influence senior management and drive organisational change.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in English; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Pay range
: $75,000 – $85,000
Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
Bonus eligibility
: This position is also eligible for a variable incentive pay component, separate from base salary.
