The First Assistant Golf Professional (AGP) will be the Lead Assistant responsible for always ensuring and enhancing first class customer service to our members and their guests. The First Assistant Golf Professional will oversee day-to-day operations including tee-time reservations, Golf Shop Assistants, golf clinics, outside operations, Member tournaments, and the Ladies Golf Association.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations including ten-time reservations, golf shop, outside operations, and programs.
  • Assists the professional golf team with member communications, member billings, and the planning and executing of golf programs and services for our Members, Guests, Ladies, and Juniors.
  • Assists the Director of Golf in personnel management responsibilities.
  • Assist with management of the outside staff service to ensure the highest quality of customer service is achieved.
  • Assist the Director of Golf with member golf tournaments.
  • The First AGP will lead our Ladies Golf Association (LGA) and be a direct liaison with the LGA Chair and tournament chairs for all LGA events.
  • Control golf shop inventory and open to buy plans for golf bags, golf balls, and gloves.
  • Assists in the development of new and innovative programming for our members and their guests in the form of tournaments, outings, lessons, and clinics as well as assisting with their entire golf experience.
  • Provide weekly Ross Report information to the CCC Communication Team.
  • Models' exceptional sportsmanship while providing warm, personal, and professional service. The First AGP will represent Charlotte Country Club's mission and team member values.
  • The First AGP will play golf with a variety of members in competitive and non-competitive situations.
  • The First AGP will continue to excel and improve upon his/her golf game by competing and working on their game.
  • The First AGP will conduct and assist with Ladies golf clinics and Junior camps.
  • Provide personalized, one-on-one instruction to members.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date handicap records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • The First AGP must possess strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must be honest, respectful, dedicated, ethical, caring, have a positive attitude and a spirit to serve.
  • A team spirit and positive attitude.
  • Excellent teamwork and understanding of hospitality and personal service.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physically, the AGP must be able to perform the job including playing golf.
  • Physical ability to be on your feet all day and working outside all year long.
  • This position requires the ability to climb stairs, and the ability to lift 35 lbs or more regularly.
  • Ability to bend, reach and lift frequently.
  • Ability to tolerate all seasonal weather conditions.

Education/Experience:

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • PGA certification or active participation in the PGA program preferred.
  • Must have a solid golf background understanding what private club experience is about.
  • Must be actively pursuing PGA membership and in good standing with the PGA of America.
