About the Role

Our client, a rapidly scaling fintech/crypto start-up, is seeking a highly skilled
Mobile App Engineer

to own the development, optimization, and ongoing evolution of their mobile application. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, values clean, secure code, and is excited to build user-centric experiences in a regulated, high-stakes financial ecosystem.

You will play a critical role in architecting and enhancing mobile features, improving performance, and ensuring world-class security and reliability. The ideal candidate is comfortable collaborating across engineering, product, and design teams, with a strong understanding of modern mobile frameworks, API integrations, and crypto-related UX considerations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development of new mobile features from concept to deployment across iOS and/or Android.
• Maintain and improve existing app performance, architecture, code quality, and accessibility.
• Integrate the mobile app with backend services, APIs, authentication systems, and blockchain/crypto components.
• Ensure the app meets security, compliance, and privacy standards required in financial/crypto environments.
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to create intuitive, user-friendly mobile experiences.
• Conduct thorough mobile testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure reliability and minimize crashes.
• Optimize for scalability, speed, and smooth user flows as the app and user base continue to grow.
• Implement analytics and instrumentation to measure performance, usage insights, and conversion funnels.
• Participate in agile ceremonies—sprint planning, code reviews, standups, and retros.
• Stay current on mobile development trends, emerging tooling, and best practices in fintech and blockchain UX.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of professional mobile app development experience (iOS, Android, or cross-platform).
• Strong proficiency in one or more of the following:

-Swift / SwiftUI

-Kotlin / Jetpack Compose

-React Native

-Flutter (Dart)

• Experience integrating RESTful APIs, WebSockets, or GraphQL.
• Solid understanding of mobile performance optimization, app lifecycle, and state management.
• Experience with secure authentication flows (OAuth, JWT, biometrics, MFA).
• Familiarity with financial data, crypto transactions, or blockchain technologies (highly preferred).
• Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and design systems.
• Experience working within CI/CD pipelines for mobile deployment.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up environment with evolving priorities.

Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)

• Experience publishing and managing apps in the Apple App Store / Google Play Store.
• Knowledge of blockchain wallets, seed phrases, and secure key handling.
• Experience with mobile app analytics tools (Firebase, Amplitude, Mixpanel, etc.).
• Exposure to compliance-driven environments (KYC/AML, SOC 2).
• Prior experience at a fintech, crypto exchange, or digital asset platform.
