Student Information System Coordinator
Purpose Statement
The job of Student Information Systems Manager is done for the purpose/s of managing all parts of the
student information and enrollment database systems; providing instruction and advice to system users;
analyzing problems and issues related to the Student Information System and related software;
coordinating usage among all system users; producing a wide variety of statistical reports; and serving as a
member of the Executive Leadership Team.
This job reports to Chief Executive Officer
Essential Functions
- Administers Student Information System and enrollment system security (e.g. authorization, access,passwords, etc.) for the purpose of regulating access to the system and ensuring confidentiality of student records.
- Designs report options and/or database applications managing the essential functions of the system for the purpose of providing personnel with information customized to their specific needs.
- Develops and prepares materials for the purpose of providing instruction and reference for all users of the system.
- Identifies issues related to student information and enrollment systems and software applications for the purpose of diagnosing and resolving user problems.
- Manages connections to the system and enrollment system software for the purpose of ensuring structures are in place for accurate and timely data flow and access.
- Participates in and/or facilitates meetings, trainings, and workshops including Executive Leadership Team and Board meetings for the purpose of communicating student information system data, use of the system and peripheral capabilities, and/or accommodating district goals.
- Provides training for network site staff on the use of student information systems (e.g. new applications, upgrades, updates, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring proper and efficient use of system.
- Responds to inquiries relating to computer hardware and/or software applications (primarily student information, enrollment, and attendance software) for the purpose of resolving problems and supporting site and network users.
- Responds to user requests for a variety of report options (e.g. assessment information, attendance, enrollment, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
- Transfers data from the enrollment system into the Student Information System for the purpose of ensuring availability of needed information for state and federal reporting.
Other Functions
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Confluence network.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet
changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job
include: preparing and maintaining accurate records; analyzing data; conducting meetings; and diagnosing
technology platform system malfunctions.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform advanced math; read technical information, compose a variety of documents,
and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge based competencies required
to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: current generation office software;
codes/laws/rules/regulations/policies; current and emerging technology; methods of instruction and training; and
technology safety and security practices.
ABILITY is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; often gather, collate, and/or classify
data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety
of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of
standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with data of varied
types and/or purposes; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to analyze issues
and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and
problem solving with equipment is moderate. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform
the functions of the job include: being attentive to detail; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships;
communicating with persons with diverse technical knowledge and skills; maintaining confidentiality; and working
with frequent interruptions.
Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; directing
other persons within a small work unit; operating within a defined budget. Utilization of resources from other work
units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to impact the organization's

Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some
lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 80% sitting,
10% walking, 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Experience:Job related experience within a specialized field is required in the field of computer information
systems (a minimum of three years).
Education:
Masters degree in job-related area preferred.
