About the Role

We are hiring a part-time
Contracts Content Editor
to edit video and written content featuring expert lawyers and contract professionals.

This role focuses solely on editing content created by others. It does not involve developing or creating original contracts content based on your own ideas. Your job is to take raw expert material and turn it into clear, accurate, high-quality contract training content.

This role is ideal for someone who knows U.S. contracts well and can identify the most valuable insights in complex discussions, then edit them into precise, useful deliverables for a professional audience.

Core Requirements

This role requires both contract expertise and strong editorial judgment.

Contract Experience (Required)

  • At least 2 years of experience working in the U.S. in a cross-functional role with substantial exposure to digital and commercial contracts
  • Experience may come from supply chain, contract operations, legal operations, or paralegal roles
  • Experience must reflect U.S. contract drafting and negotiation practices in real-world business settings

Editorial Experience (Preferred)

  • Experience editing business videos and written content for a professional purpose
  • Experience may include student, intern, volunteer, or professional work, but not personal or social media content
  • Experience reporting on or editing professional subjects through journalism, legal publishing, professional media, or similar roles is preferred
  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills with lawyer-level U.S. English

What You Will Do

This role is approximately
75 percent text-based video editing and 25 percent text editing
.

Video and Transcript Editing

  • Edit long-form video recordings (60 minutes or more) featuring lawyers discussing complex contract topics
  • Create accurate, polished final transcripts from raw recordings
  • Create shorter 8 to 12-minute video edits highlighting the most valuable insights for blog and YouTube use
  • Create very short video and transcript clips for marketing and training use
  • Perform all video editing exclusively in
    Descript
  • Do not export or edit video in any other software

Content Transformation and Management

  • Edit transcripts to remove errors, repetition, and ambiguity
  • Convert raw transcripts into structured deliverables such as checklists and training materials
  • Ensure all content is precise, accurate, and professionally sound
  • Upload final files as directed and coordinate with graphic designer on finalized production

Other Job Elements

  • Use AI tools where helpful, but personally validate every deliverable for accuracy and clarity
  • Ensure all content meets a high professional standard suitable for experienced lawyers
  • Manage files and deliverables in accordance with company's content tracking and storage practices.
  • Use Canva for simple graphics

Professional Expectations

  • Native-level U.S. English with lawyer-grade precision
  • Strong judgment, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet weekly deadlines consistently
  • Clear, professional communication
  • Availability for two to three weekly meetings during U.S. work hours

Evaluation Process

  • This is a contractor role. You'll provide your own equipment, work on your own schedule, and will be compensated on a 1099 basis.
  • Candidates will complete multiple
    paid
    editing projects as part of the evaluation process
  • Ongoing work will be offered based on quality, reliability, and fit
