Position Summary:

The Business Development Director is responsible for identifying and developing new business while ensuring that all customer needs are met. This role is responsible for developing and facilitating the proposal process for specific clients including budget and pricing development, proposal writing and client presentations. This position is an in-office, in-person, or hybrid role if local to South Bend, or remote if not local to South Bend.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identifies target hospitals and health systems
  • Generates new leads
  • Closes sales and achieves quarterly quotas
  • Cultivates existing leads and prospects
  • Takes ownership for transitioning new projects from sales to the operations team
  • Prepares quotes, contracts, and Request for Proposal (RFP) responses for potential customers
  • Prepares sales presentations or proposals to explain product specifications or applications
  • Performs technical discovery to understand customer requirements and systems to be archived
  • Documents all sales related activities and communications within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System
  • Provides on-site and/or remote presentations to clients
  • Assists with the generation of sales materials and documents
  • Develops and distributes communications to current and prospective clients
  • Performs market research and statistical analysis
  • Learns and documents the sales process
  • Strives to stay up to date with product features and enhancements
  • Maintains up-to-date awareness of market activities, industry trends and government regulations
  • Strives to develop a deep understanding and knowledge of customer accounts and knows which data systems their accounts are running as well as the overall decommissioning strategy for any systems they are no longer using
  • Provides onsite/remote services to catalog decommissioned systems along with timeframe, current maintenance dollars, and any budget that may be allocated
  • Travel up to 50%

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Clear, concise written and oral communication
  • Basic understanding of project methodology
  • Strong presentation skills and phone presence
  • Fundamental understanding of health care industry, including processes and general business principles
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Previous experience using a CRM, preferably SugarCRM or Salesforce
  • Experience with Zoom or another online meeting platform

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years Sales and/or
  • Remote, Oregon, United States
