Summary:
The Project Manager/Scrum Master plays a pivotal role in driving project success through effective Agile methodologies and strong cross-functional collaboration. This individual is responsible for managing multiple projects using standardized project management practices and serving as a Scrum Master for agile teams. The role focuses on delivering high-value outcomes by establishing clear project plans, monitoring progress, resolving risks, and fostering a culture of transparency and continuous improvement. By leading key Agile ceremonies, facilitating stakeholder communication, and implementing performance metrics, the Project Manager ensures alignment with organizational goals. This position also emphasizes process optimization, dependency management across departments, and the creation of clear, audience-appropriate project reporting. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong foundation in Agile principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to balance multiple initiatives within budget and timeline constraints.
Contract - 6 months
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects using standard project management tools and techniques
- Serve as Scrum Master for multiple Agile projects, ensuring adherence to Scrum principles and practices
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans to track deliverables, milestones, and progress
- Identify, track, and resolve project issues and risks; escalate critical concerns and support decision-making
- Define and implement key performance metrics to measure project progress, value delivery, and team effectiveness
- Lead and facilitate core Agile events including Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives
- Foster a psychologically safe environment where team members feel empowered to raise concerns without fear of blame
- Collaborate with management to drive process efficiencies and apply lessons learned across projects
- Coordinate with internal and external Project Managers and Scrum Masters to manage cross-team dependencies
- Deliver clear, concise, and tailored project status reports for diverse audiences—including project teams, stakeholders, and executives
- Create and maintain workflow diagrams and system documentation ('as is' or 'to be') for project continuity and knowledge sharing
- Proactively identify implementation trends and recommend process improvements to enhance agility and performance
- Perform other duties as assigned by department leadership
Requirements Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in IT project management
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- 2+ years of direct Scrum Master experience in delivery-focused environments
- Proficiency with project and Agile tools such as VSTS, ALM, Jira, or VersionOne
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives
- Diplomatic, adaptable, and collaborative interpersonal style with a reputation for being easy to work with
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, aligning deliverables with business needs, timelines, and budgets
- Expertise in managing project scope and communicating effectively with IT, business, and vendor partners
- Advanced computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio, and related tools
- Practical experience with agile collaboration tools and platforms
- PPM Certification
