Über

Exciting opportunity for a Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer from a building services background to join the design team within a well-established M&E services contractor in Merseyside.
Offered is a diverse and challenging role where you will be working amongst our design team on a wide range of projects within the building services sector. You will be involved in the production and delivery of Mechanical Services Designs, calculations, specifications, surveys, O&M manuals, as fitted drawings and assisting with take offs and quotes. We require a team member who has keen eye for detail and good design, good problem‑solving skills and can work off their initiative to ensure the smooth running and delivery of our projects.
This is a great chance for a Junior/Intermediate Engineer to play a key part in the company’s future development and gain further experience and progression within the HVAC industry.
Production of mechanical designs and schematics using AutoCAD’s 2D & 3D software packages
Produce and check engineering calculations as required
Managing design projects and assisting the site delivery teams throughout construction
Surveying of mechanical services systems
Production of Mechanical Specifications, Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and as‑fitted drawings
Liaising closely with other professionals including clients, contract managers, site engineers, architects, and other contractors throughout the project and at design team meetings
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Level 5 or above qualification in Building Services Engineering.
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD & Revit software.
Proficient in the use of mechanical calculation software i.e. IES, TAS, MEPworx, H2x
Minimum 1‑2 years’ experience in the Mechanical Building Services Sector
Preferred Skills
Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail, with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Strong technical drawing skills
Good IT skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft office packages
Experienced in industry‑specific AutoCAD software and modelling programmes.
Strong literacy and communication skills
Excellent people and time management skills maintaining the highest professional standards
The ability to work well both as part of a team and individually
A genuine interest and enthusiasm in the built environment
Working knowledge of relevant building regulations, standards, and codes of practice.

The role is predominantly office based
