Position Content Creator for The Big Cat Sanctuary (Permanent, Full-Time)
We’re looking for a creative, ambitious, and highly organised Content Creator to join The Big Cat Sanctuary. This is an incredible opportunity for a creative with potential to help shape the digital presence of one of the UK’s most exciting conservation organisations. You’ll work within the BCS Marketing Team to bring stories of wildlife, conservation and daily life at BCS to audiences around the world. Based primarily at The Big Cat Sanctuary, this role will also take you to Hertfordshire Zoo, at various events (both internal & external) — capturing everything from behind-the-scenes moments with big cats to promotional material, educational content, as well as fun facts and interactions across the entire site. You’ll need to be confident behind the camera, full of ideas, and passionate about creating engaging, high-quality content across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and beyond.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Content Production: Research, plan, film, and edit high-quality, original photo and video content for TikTok, Instagram (including Reels), YouTube (short and long form), and other relevant channels.
Digital Storytelling: Bring The Big Cat Sanctuary’s unique world, ranging from animal care to global conservation efforts, to life through dynamic, entertaining, and emotionally resonant stories.
Trend Awareness: Stay up to date with social trends, challenges, and algorithm shifts. Actively pitch new creative concepts tailored to platform trends and audience behaviour.
Content Strategy: Collaborate on campaign and posting strategies to grow engagement, watch time, and follower count, helping shape the digital presence of the BCS.
On-Location Coverage: Regularly capture content at The Big Cat Sanctuary and occasionally, Hertfordshire Zoo, including events, behind-the-scenes work, and educational features with animals and various team members.
Content Library Management: Maintain organised archives of video/photo content, properly labelled and accessible to the wider media team.
Who We’re Looking For
A natural storyteller with a passion for wildlife, people, and conservation
Strong videography and editing skills using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X, or similar
Confident with DSLR or mirrorless cameras for both video and photography
Knowledgeable about TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube trends and tone
Creative thinker with an eye for engaging social-first content
Organised, reliable, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team
Confident working around animals and in varied filming environments
Full driving licence and access to own vehicle required

What To Expect In The Role
40 hours per week, 5 over 7 days; generally worked between 08.00–17.00, with evening and weekend work as required to cover events and deadlines
Includes regular weekend/Bank Holiday work (with the opportunity for overtime or TOIL)
28 days paid holiday, plus Christmas Day off as standard
Full uniform provided
Starting salary £28,000 per annum.
