Our busy Dallas, Texas distribution center is looking for a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our operations team. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of all outgoing shipments. This role is critical to our supply chain, requiring strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail. You will manage shipping documentation, coordinate with carriers, and ensure all packages meet our high standards before leaving the facility. If you are a proactive individual with a knack for organization and a desire to work in the fast-paced world of Logistics , this is the role for you.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy in labeling and documentation.
- Verify that all orders are packed correctly and safely according to company standards.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers to schedule pickups and manage delivery timelines.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs using our Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary shipping documents.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant departments or customers as needed.
- Ensure the shipping dock is organized, clean, and safe for all personnel.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Wear appropriate PPE , including safety vests and footwear.
- Assist with inventory management and receiving tasks as required.
- Perform quality checks on outgoing shipments to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or associate degree preferred.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk, Logistics Coordinator, or in a similar shipping role is essential.
- Proficiency in WMS and shipping software is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform tasks that may involve some physical exertion and occasional Lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with shipping regulations and documentation.
- Commitment to workplace Safety .
- Must be able to wear required PPE .
