We are looking for a diligent Picker/Packer to join our dynamic team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for accurately picking items for customer orders and then expertly packing them for shipment. Your attention to detail ensures that customers receive the correct items in perfect condition. You will work within a fast-paced logistics environment, using scanning equipment and following specific packing instructions. This position is fundamental to our order fulfillment process and contributes significantly to our supply chain efficiency. We offer a supportive team environment and emphasize comprehensive training on safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities:
- Retrieve specified items from warehouse shelves accurately based on pick lists or electronic orders.
- Verify product codes, descriptions, and quantities.
- Package items securely and efficiently for shipment, selecting appropriate packaging materials.
- Label packages correctly for transit.
- Inspect items for damage before packing.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and warehouse area.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as required.
- Follow all company safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Contribute to the smooth operation of our logistics and distribution processes.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily order fulfillment targets.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in picking and packing or a similar warehouse role is an advantage. Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail. Must be able to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods and regular lifting. Good communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Understanding of basic logistics and shipping procedures is helpful. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE guidelines is required.
