Join our growing team as a Forklift Operator in Huntsville, Alabama, a key hub in our national logistics network. This role is essential for managing the flow of goods within our distribution center. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve a wide variety of materials and products. This includes loading and unloading delivery trucks, stocking shelves, and preparing orders for shipment. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining a safe working environment, utilizing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and adhering to strict operating procedures. Your efficiency and accuracy directly impact our operational success. We are looking for individuals with a keen eye for detail, a commitment to safety, and the physical capability to handle the demands of warehouse work. This position is perfect for a skilled operator who takes pride in their work and contributes positively to team goals.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, sort, and store inventory.
- Load and unload trailers and containers with precision and care.
- Transport materials between different areas of the warehouse.
- Conduct pre-shift inspections on all equipment and report any defects immediately.
- Follow all warehouse safety rules and regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to meet operational targets.
- Identify potential safety hazards and take corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Demonstrated ability to operate various types of forklifts safely.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and procedures.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
