We are searching for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our Virginia Beach, Virginia operations. This role is pivotal in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, directly impacting our logistics efficiency and customer satisfaction. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing and overseeing inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits, analyzing inventory data, and identifying areas for improvement. You will investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, manage stock rotation, and ensure optimal stock levels are maintained. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of warehouse management systems. You will work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to streamline processes and minimize losses. A commitment to safety is paramount; you must ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe lifting practices. While this role may involve some physical tasks, the primary focus is on analysis and control. However, occasional lifting may be required. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about inventory management and looking to make a significant impact in the logistics sector. Experience with WMS software and data analysis tools is highly desirable. Your expertise will directly contribute to our operational excellence and supply chain reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures.
- Conduct regular physical inventories and cycle counts.
- Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies accurately.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and ensure product freshness.
- Optimize stock levels to meet demand while minimizing carrying costs.
- Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including PPE requirements.
- Generate inventory reports for management review.
- Perform occasional lifting and material handling tasks as needed.
