We are seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our operations in Madison, Wisconsin. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient preparation and dispatch of outgoing shipments. This role is integral to our logistics and supply chain management, ensuring that products reach their destinations on time and in excellent condition. You will coordinate with carriers, prepare shipping documentation, and ensure all packages meet quality standards. We prioritize a safe working environment and require all employees to adhere to stringent safety protocols and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position involves standing, walking, and occasional lifting. If you are organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong administrative skills, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to our success. You will work closely with our inventory and fulfillment teams to guarantee seamless order processing. Your efficiency and accuracy directly impact customer satisfaction and operational flow.
Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify shipping information and prepare necessary documentation (e.g., bills of lading, labels).
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Inspect outgoing packages for proper packaging and labeling.
- Operate shipping software and equipment.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Assist with inventory management and order fulfillment tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk, Logistics Coordinator, or in a related warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift items up to 30 pounds.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and best practices in logistics.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
