Are you a physically capable individual with a strong work ethic? We are hiring a Material Handler for our Virginia Beach, Virginia facility. This role is essential for the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating various material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring materials are properly staged and moved to their designated locations. This position demands a proactive approach to task completion and a commitment to maintaining a secure and organized workspace. As a Material Handler, you will be a key player in our logistics chain, contributing directly to the speed and accuracy of our operations. This role involves significant physical exertion, including consistent lifting of up to 75 pounds, operating machinery, and extended periods of standing and walking. Strict adherence to safety protocols and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE ) are non-negotiable. We value reliability and a dedication to safe practices.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from various warehouse locations.
- Stack and organize inventory in designated areas.
- Assist with receiving and shipping operations as needed.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and report maintenance issues.
- Ensure a clean and orderly work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies, including the mandatory use of PPE and safe operating procedures.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of warehouse logistics .
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience as a material handler or forklift operator is highly desirable.
- Certification to operate forklifts or willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including repetitive lifting of up to 75 lbs.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse equipment and procedures.
- Strong awareness of safety regulations and a commitment to following them.
- Proficiency in wearing and utilizing PPE correctly.
- Knowledge of logistics and inventory control principles.
