The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for accurately documenting and processing incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, and ensuring that all received goods are properly stored and organized. This role is crucial to maintaining efficient warehouse operations and ensuring accurate inventory levels. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to safety. You will work closely with vendors, drivers, and internal departments to ensure a smooth receiving process. This position involves regular physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods. Compliance with all safety protocols and proper use of PPE is mandatory. Your role is vital in the supply chain, ensuring timely and accurate receiving of materials for our distribution network. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming trucks and inspect freight for damage.
- Verify received goods against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and stage items for proper put-away.
- Communicate any discrepancies or damages to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE .
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving environment preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of logistics and warehouse operations.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to wearing required PPE .
