We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Houston, Texas. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for accurately processing, preparing, and dispatching outgoing shipments. Your day-to-day tasks will involve receiving inbound goods, verifying contents against shipping documents, and meticulously preparing items for transport. This includes proper labeling, packaging, and ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate. You will work closely with carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments, maintaining clear communication to ensure timely delivery. Attention to detail is paramount, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Safety is a top priority; you will be expected to adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Experience with shipping software and understanding of logistics principles are highly desirable. The ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs) is also required for this position. Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packing, labeling, and creating shipping documents.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update inventory systems.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all Safety regulations and the correct use of PPE .
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer applications and shipping software.
- Manage workload to meet deadlines and performance metrics.
- Handle tasks requiring moderate Lifting and physical dexterity.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or general warehouse operations preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring Lifting up to 50 lbs.
