_*Job Summary*_
The physical therapist provides specialized physical therapy services to eligible students. Additionally, s/he promotes wellness, maintenance of good health and proper body mechanics to the students of The Benedictine School. The therapist uses a wide range of modalities, exercises, equipment and skills to provide services to the students in order to enhance quality of life and independence.
_*Duties*_
* Assess and evaluate students and formulate an individualized therapeutic treatment plan to be implemented and monitored by the therapist.
* Maintain and/or provide the necessary specialized equipment, braces, and assistive devices required for therapy or student needs. Adapt equipment as necessary.
* Provide classroom and residential staff instruction in exercises, equipment, and environmental modifications, etc. to support interventions.
* Document screenings, evaluations, IEP present levels, therapy notes, and progress reports, etc. as required. Do so in a timely manner.
* Work collaboratively with clinical professionals in a team approach to provide comprehensive rehabilitation services.
* Provide consultation to parents/caregivers of students as needed.
* Participate in development of Individual Educational Programs (IEP) and attend IEP meetings as needed.
* Attend team meetings and in-service meetings as requested.
* Cooperate with Benedictine administration and in-state/out-of-state agencies in Attend and successfully complete mandatory trainings and maintain job-specific certifications/licenses.
_*Job Qualifications *_
* Graduation from an accredited university and licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of Maryland is required.
* Pediatric physical therapy experience is preferred
* Must be capable of performing the physical demands of the job
* Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
* Knowledge of appropriate evaluation tools, equipment and assistive technology available to use in therapy
* Must be a minimum of 21 years old
* Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
* Must pass pre-employment criminal background checks through CJIS as stated in Family Law Article 5-561, and pass pre-employment CPS check.
* Must be a strong advocate of the Benedictine mission to help children and adults with development disabilities achieve their greatest potential, and be motivated to contribute to the mission with pride and integrity.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
