*Overview*
We are seeking an experienced and versatile Diesel Mechanic/Manager to oversee and perform maintenance, repair, and diagnostics on a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. This role requires a strong background in automotive and industrial machinery, with leadership capabilities to manage maintenance operations effectively. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with heavy equipment, and excellent problem-solving skills to ensure optimal performance and safety across our fleet and machinery.
*Responsibilities*
* Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines, heavy equipment, farm machinery, and industrial equipment.
* Perform complex repairs including transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, air brakes, alignment, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and welding.
* Manage maintenance schedules for vehicles such as tractor-trailers, forklifts, excavators, cranes, and other heavy machinery.
* Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics.
* Oversee the repair and maintenance of customer vehicles and equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
* Lead a team of technicians by assigning tasks, providing training, and ensuring quality workmanship.
* Maintain detailed records of repairs performed using diagnostic tools and service manuals.
* Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols related to heavy lifting, electrical systems, hydraulics, and vehicle operation.
* Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues using schematics and automotive diagnostics tools.
*Requirements*
* Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership experience preferred.
* Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, suspension components, air brakes, and wheel alignments.
* Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery.
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including soldering), and diagnostic software.
* Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting electrical or hydraulic systems.
* Experience with vehicle maintenance including tire service and shocks & struts replacement.
* Knowledge of fabrication techniques for custom parts or repairs.
* Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform physical tasks associated with mechanical repairs.
* Strong customer service skills for interacting with clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
* Certification or experience in welding is a plus; valid driver’s license required for certain operational tasks. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
